The Hawker Hurricane MkII was developed as WWII and the Battle of Britain raged. It was a British single-seat fighter aircraft designed and built mostly by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. It was designed with a reinforced fuselage to accommodate the new wings with room for dropping tanks and bombs.
